Speaker Bio:

Mary Kiolbasa has worked in prospect research at Vanderbilt University since 2005, where she currently serves as the Director of Pipeline Development. After several years managing and redeveloping the parent research program, she became the Director of Development Research, where she focused on managing workflow and completing comprehensive leadership briefings and due diligence reports. She has been in her current role, which oversees the Lead Generation and Data Enhancement group, since February 2024. Prior to working in higher ed, Mary began her career at an industry-leading background screening firm, where she was a research analyst and licensed private investigator on their executive intelligence team.

Prisca Zaccaria is an experienced leader in higher education advancement and a recognized expert in prospect development, with over 22 years in the field. As Executive Director for Prospect Development at the University of South Carolina, she plays a pivotal role in driving fundraising success and aligning philanthropic strategies with the university's long-term goals. Before her role at USC, Prisca held a senior position in prospect development at the University of Georgia, where she played a crucial role in supporting two comprehensive campaigns, including the successful completion of the most recent $1.45 billion campaign. Her collaboration with cross-functional teams led to the enhancement of donor pipelines and the securing of major and principal gifts, significantly boosting UGA's fundraising efforts.

A key strength of Prisca's leadership is her focus on utilizing data-driven strategies to enhance the productivity of prospect development teams and advance overall fundraising growth. She has spearheaded the integration of innovative processes and analytics, ensuring the identification and cultivation of high-potential donors, which has contributed to significant increases in major gifts and overall fundraising success. She has been instrumental in streamlining metrics that measure team impact and demonstrate how strategic prospect development propels successful fundraising campaigns and philanthropic initiatives.

Prisca's contributions extend beyond her institutional roles - she currently serves as a Board Director and Education Chair for Apra-Carolinas and was previously the Award Committee Chair for Apra-PD. Prisca has also held several other leadership positions including Program Board Director for Apra-GA, Board Director for GEAC, AFP Leadership Mentor, and faculty member for CASE's Prospect Development training. Her active involvement at both regional and national levels, including presenting at conferences and contributing to numerous webinars and panels, underscores her deep commitment to advancing best practices in prospect development and fostering the growth of the profession.
